In 2024, with your help, we planted 17,589 trees in Sequoia National Forest as gifts for all occasions and memorials.
These trees will restore roughly 78 acres of fire devastated public land.
Eventually these trees will provide enough oxygen for 70,356 people each year.
These trees will provide homes for thousands of forest critters, including those at risk of extinction due to deforestation.
More about the Rough Forest Fire in California in 2015
On July 31, 2015 the Rough Fire started from a lighting strike and grew to be over 151,000 acres. It ended up being the 2nd largest wildfire in modern Sierra Nevada history. The fire was contained after 100 days and was declared completely out in the month that followed. At one point there were about 3,700 fire personnel assigned to fight the fire and the fire grew over 10,000 acres per day.
Our National Forest land desperate for more trees, every Tree Gift helps
We're proud of the work we've done, and we're grateful for your support. AND, there is more work to do! The U.S. Forest Service has identified over 4 million acres of land that needs to be restored immediately.
